When replacing a water meter, it is indeed necessary to avoid certain common mistakes to ensure a smooth and safe operation. The following are some taboos when changing a water meter, which can help users avoid potential problems.

Location Restrictions

  • Do not store the meter in areas with extreme heat or cold.

  • Avoid installing in an area filled with flammable gas. It might result in damage, electric shock, or fire.

  • Do not install in a place where air remains in the meter.

  • Do not install in a place subject to vibration.

  • Do not install in an area where it may be exposed to electrical noise.

  • Do not install in a place that will be submerged in water for a long time.

  • Do not install in places with oil (kerosene, fuel oil, etc.) or where corrosive gases may affect the equipment.

  • Do not install in direct sunlight or near heating elements.

  • Do not install in a magnetic field environment.

 

Operational Prohibitions

 

  • Do not detach the meter if you use a meter with internal electronic components, there is a risk of fire and burns. (Such as electronic water meter and battery electromagnetic water meter).

  • Avoid touching the edges and contact screws. Use gloves when handling as this may result in injury.

  • Avoid getting your body or clothes caught on the screws and edges. There is a risk of injury.

  • Do not give a strong shock or vibration while storing the meter.

  • Do not use it as a scaffold or place heavy objects on it.

  • Do not use the meter if it has expired as permitted in your country/region.

  • Do not shorten or apply force to the reed switch.
